Can The Coronavirus COVID-19 Affect getting parts for my Vehicle?

March 24, 2020

What is the potential for a parts disruption?

As the Covid -19 virus has be more prevalent in the pass days I'm been getting emails and talking to my suppliers. They are saying they are well stock right now but a lot of people are buying parts. The main concern is that Ford , Gm , Dodge , Honda , Toyota have all stop production temporarily and that could possibly lead to a potential parts supply issue. Now most places have oem parts stock pile for a couple of months but the suppliers are telling me there has been an increase in buying recently so no telling how long that will last. If they open the plants up soon then it probably won't be a problem.

I would recommend getting your vehicle fix or transmission repair sooner than later though just in case.

Transmission fluid is a slippery liquid that acts as a lubricant for all the moving parts inside of your transmission. In an automatic transmission, this fluid also works as a coolant and an adherent fluid that transmits power from the engine to the transmission.

A CVT is an automatic transmission system which offers a smoother driving experience by optimizing the process of change. The transition between gears becomes almost smooth by the design of the CVT, and the effect of "shift-shock" is greatly lessened. CVTs also provide better fuel economy and power consumption, as it allows the engine to operate at optimum power, regardless of how fast the vehicle travels. The word "continuously variable" implies that the CVT allows for a constant change within the engine, instead of the actual gear "stages," so that there is no apparent shift between gears. Different types of CVTs Many types of continuously variable transmissions are available, many of which are now available from major automakers. Pulley-Based The most common CVT uses a complex pulley system to provide smooth gear changes instead of gears. If you’re having issues with your cvt give us a call we offer a free initial check out. 5 Tips that will help you save money at a transmission shop! 1. Today's technology is great! When it comes to finding a good transmission shop, it's right at your fingertips. Checking the reviews of a shop on the internet is the first step to saving you money. This may sound silly but, good shops work hard for good reviews. 2. Resist the impulse to call a transmission shop and ask for a "worst case scenario", or a "ball park". Worst case is buying something you don't need. There are a lot of shops that will just throw a number out, all too quickly, hoping to land the job. 3. Keep in mind that a transmission has 300-400 moving parts. When someone says they can rebuild your transmission for a certain dollar figure, how many of those parts are they going to replace? Everyone is convinced that rebuilding a transmission means you take out ALL the old parts and put new ones back in their place. That's simply not the case. 4. It’s easy to make up prices over the phone, but a professional shop will always ask you to bring the vehicle in for a proper diagnosis. Doesn't it make more sense to base your decision on a thorough diagnosis and accurate pricing information, rather than some sort of random guess work by someone that hasn't even looked at your vehicle? 5. Honest shops make sure they only sell what is needed and do a good job for you. An honest shop will educate the customer, rather than trying to play them for a sucker. If you want to get the best price, seek out a professional transmission shop like Eagle Transmission. Serving Dallas Area and Ardmore Ok Eagle Transmission Shop
