According to Wikipedia Argyle was first settle in the 1850’s and was formally founded in 1881. There was an infamous outlaw that stole $60,000 worth of gold around the same time Argyle became a city. It is believe the outlaw hid the gold in a cave close to Argyle and it hasn’t been found. The outlaw is believed to have die before he was able to retrieve the gold.
